Love Ballad
by Bill Bailey
"And when I danced, I danced alone
But then I did not dance because I was alone
So I did not dance."

Bill Bailey's shows are amazing and the best bits are his songs. Easily. This is one of his best songs. It makes me laugh so much! I love the tone, throughout :)

Inner City Pressure
by The Flight of the Conchords
"You know you're not in high finance
Considering second-hand underpants
"

Inner City Pressure - I'm continuing with comedy songs! I love this song. I love most of the songs in The Flight of the Conchords but this is definitely near the top, if not my favourite. I love the Human League sort of sound it has. I would recommend the show to absolutely anyone.

One Track Lover
by Todd Rivers
"I'm a one track lover
On a one way lane"

Okay, so this is a parody but I love it. It's so damn catchy. And I love it when Thornton Reed starts rapping! I've been watching a lot of Garth Marhenghi lately and I'm loving it. I think I will do comedy songs for the rest of the week. I hope you enjoy the next one I suggest ;)

It's Only Natural
by Crowded House
"It's only natural;
Can help it if I want to
"

I don't know why this song popped into my head today but I am rather fond of it. I love the gritty sound of the vocals and the gorgeous reverb on the guitar.

Sexy Boy
by Air
"One day I will be beautiful too
Like a god...
"

I got into Air via their album Talkie Walkie, before finding out that it was them who made this amazingly famous song. I love that grungy noise at the beginning. And the vocals are so bizarrely beautiful.

The Ladies' Bras

A special recommendation in light of Dean's birthday. This is his theme tune. Forever.

Your Ghost
by Kristin Hersh (feat. Michael Stipe)
"I think last night
You were driving circles
Around me
"

I keep wanting to post more Martha Wainwright. Somebody hold me back! So here I am with another female singer/songwriter. I stumbled over Kirsten Hersh when dad was getting me to sell a bunch of his albums on amazon (none of which sold, sadly).

Anyway, what I really love about her is how she uses her guitar - it works really beautifully within the song. Also!! Michael Stipe's voice fits with hers in a really eerie sort of way which suits the mood of the song. It's a brilliant duet and really worth giving a listen!
