I love this song lots. I love the whole Breakfast in America album. It's magical. Somehow, it sounds to me like you could make a great musical out of it. The music is very atmospheric and has a real sentimental edge. Plus, they have great voices... very Bee Gees. And oh, instrumentation is amazing. I couldn't find a great version but this one on youtube is pretty close :)
