I saw an interview with Dolly Parton on TV recently and was really struck by her. I always felt that she'd been made out to be a really shallow figure in the press. And true, she's not exactly Einstein but she's got such a lot of heart. And it's one of the things that really comes accross in the music she sings. She's got all that American spirit that's so overwhelming without all the dodgy prejudice that usually seems to come with it.
I really love this song because it's got a real message of acceptance and being happy in who you are.
My blogs here are getting quite spread out... hopefully once we've finished this assignment, the pressure will be off a bit and normal service will resume :)
