Missing
by Everything But The Girl
"And can I confess;
The years have proved
To offer nothing since you moved
And you're long gone
But I can't move on
And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain"

I chose this song today because it's feeling particularly relevant. I have been thinking a lot about past aquaintances; a fairly dreary topic to be dwelling on, really.
Anyway, I probably first paid attention to this track when I was about 12 and I used to listen to the Crush compilation on tape (a copy my mum had made) in my walkman, at night in bed whilst I was going to sleep. It also some Suede on there which has stuck with me too. Anyway, whilst being astounding... odd-looking, the vocalist has a really beautiful voice; it's so warm and rich. Yum, methinks.
I love the atmosphere of quiet desperation and longing. It's beautiful.
